Information
This non-profit organization was formed to honor a remarkable young man, Zach Shaver, by constructing a sand volleyball tournament for all age groups to participate in. The tournament is a tribute to the game that Zach loved to play.
A set of two different brackets [competitive/non-competitive] will be available. The competitive branch requires that one girl be on the court at all times. Among each division, it will be a “pool play” style. The games will have a time limit of 30 minutes, or finishes when the first team is to reach 15 points. The winner of each “pool” with the best record will advance in the playoffs. A team from each division will be given the title of “champion” in the tournament at the Zach Shaver Sand Volleyball Invitational.
In order to register, you must go to registration page and fill out the required information. All teams that register will receive an entry into the tournament, 2 hot dogs and drink for each member, and a tournament t-shirt (if the team registers and pays before July 22nd, 2011). After this date, registered team members will not receive a free shirt, but will be given the option to purchase one for and additional $10.00 for each shirt.
The award for winning the tournament are still to be announced. Each winning team, from each bracket, of the previous year won $75.00 to Jerry's Scoreboard and a prestigious "Winners" t-shirt for each of the members.
All of the proceeds will go toward the Zach Shaver Scholarship that the school district created in his name. The scholarship goes to a senior student athlete attending Rider High School in each year. With the help of friends, family, and the community, we are able to come together and unite for this event and most importantly, have fun!
